ব্র্যাক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়: ব্র্যাক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, যার ইংরেজির নাম হচ্ছে BRAC University. বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়টির সংক্ষেপ নাম হলো- ব্রাকইউ-BRACU. এর নীতি নীতিবাক্য হলো-উৎকর্ষের অনুপ্রেরণা। ব্র্যাক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় বাংলাদেশের একটি বেসরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়।
ব্র্যাক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কখন প্রতিষ্ঠত হয়: ব্র্যাক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়টি ২০০১ সালে বেসরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় আইন ১৯৯২-এর অধীনে ফজলে হাসান আবেদের ব্র্যাক সংস্থার শাখা হিসাবে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়। ২০০১ সালে বাংলাদেশি সমাজকর্মী ফজলে হাসান আবেদ এই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় প্রতিষ্ঠা করেন।
ব্র্যাক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়টি কোথায় অবস্থিত: ব্র্যাক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের (BRAC University)শিক্ষা কার্যক্রম বর্তমানে রাজধানী ঢাকায় মহাখালীতে অস্থায়ী ক্যাম্পাসে পরিচালিত হচ্ছে। স্থায়ী ক্যাম্পাস নির্মিত হচ্ছে মেরুল বাড্ডায়। ২০২৩ সালের শেষ নাগাদ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়টির সকল শিক্ষা কার্যক্রম স্থায়ী ক্যাম্পাসে স্থানান্তরকরণের কথা রয়েছে।
বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ভর্তি যোগ্যতা-Minimum eligibility for application:
- SSC/Equivalent and HSC/Equivalent (including additional subject) GPA 3.5 in SSC and HSC separately. O-level with five subjects and A-level with two subjects as per the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, GPA 2.5 in O-Level and A-Level separately.
- Candidates applying for EEE, ECE, CSE, APE and Physics=HSC/ Equivalent-“B” grade in Physics & Mathematics, A-levels-“C” grade in Physics & Mathematics.
- Candidates for BSc in Computer Science and BSc in Mathematics= HSC/ Equivalent-“B” grade in Mathematics, A-levels-“C” grade in Mathematics.
- Candidates for BSc in Electronic & Communication Engineering and Electrical & Electronic Engineering who had Physics and Mathematics but not Chemistry in HSC/A-level/Equivalent will have to take a remedial course on Chemistry in addition to the courses required for the program.
- Candidates for BSc in Biotechnology and Microbiology should have minimum C grade in Biology and Chemistry in HSC/A-level/Equivalent. Candidates who did not have Mathematics in HSC/A-level/Equivalent must take a remedial course on Mathematics in addition to the courses required for the program.
- Candidates who have qualified in HSC/A levels or recognized equivalent examination in current year or two previous years are eligible to apply.
Bachelor of Pharmacy
*Candidate must have a minimum GPA of 3.50 in SSC/O Levels/ recognized equivalents and HSC/A Levels/ recognized equivalents separately.
*Candidate must pass HSC/ “A” level or recognized equivalents with the following science subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.
*Candidates for Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons.) must pass HSC/A-level/recognized equivalents with a minimum B grade in Biology & Chemistry, a minimum C grade in Mathematics and D grade in Physics.
However, candidates having no Mathematics at the HSC/ “A” level or recognized equivalents may be admitted, but they need to take an extra 3 (three) credits course on Mathematics relevant to B. Pharm. curriculum.
Foreign students must have passed 12 education years and got same grades in equivalent examinations from foreign recognized institutions.
*Candidate must pass HSC/ “A” level or recognized equivalent examination in current year or one previous year.
* Recognized equivalents mean Education Board, Madrasah Board and Bangladesh Technical Education Board
Candidates completed IB-DP with a minimum DP Score of 24 are eligible to apply.
