A Rainy Day
Paragraph Class 8: A Rainy Day: A rainy day is a very familiar in Bangladesh. It usually occurs in the rainy season. There is continuous downpour of rain and the density of rain may vary from one hour to all day long, or it is always raining. Sometimes it is a heavy shower, sometimes it is a drizzle, and sometimes gusts of wind blow.
Then the rain drops are swept around, and they might enter the rooms if the windows are perchance open. The thunder rolls and cracks sometimes, and the lightning flashes in the sky showing a zigzag light across the dark sky. Roads and streets go under water in most areas of the cities and towns.
People move along the roads with umbrellas. Rickshaws are not easily available. Busses are seen much crowded. Office-goers and students suffer much on a rainy day. Poor people, day laborers hardly find any job on the day.
Even domestic animals, birds and beasts are put too much trouble. Some people enjoy such a day much. They find poetic inspiration on the day. A rainy day is a gloomy day indeed for most of the people.
A Rainy Day-এর বাংলা অর্থ: একটি বৃষ্টির দিন
বাংলাদেশে একটি বৃষ্টির দিন অতি পরিচিত। এটি সাধারণত বর্ষাকালে ঘটে। অবিরাম বৃষ্টিপাত হচ্ছে এবং বৃষ্টির ঘনত্ব এক ঘন্টা থেকে সারাদিন পর্যন্ত পরিবর্তিত হতে পারে, অথবা সবসময় বৃষ্টি হচ্ছে।
কখনো প্রবল ঝরনা, কখনো গুঁড়ি গুঁড়ি, আবার কখনো দমকা হাওয়া। তারপর বৃষ্টির ফোঁটাগুলো চারপাশে ভেসে যায় এবং জানালাগুলো খোলা থাকলে তারা ঘরে ঢুকতে পারে। কখনও কখনও বজ্রপাত হয় এবং ফাটল হয়, এবং আকাশে বিদ্যুতের ঝলকানি অন্ধকার আকাশ জুড়ে একটি জিগজ্যাগ আলো দেখায়।
শহর ও শহরের অধিকাংশ এলাকায় রাস্তা-ঘাট পানিতে তলিয়ে যায়। মানুষ ছাতা নিয়ে রাস্তা দিয়ে চলাচল করে। সহজে রিকশা পাওয়া যায় না। বাসগুলোতে অনেক ভিড় দেখা যায়। বৃষ্টির দিনে অফিসগামী ও শিক্ষার্থীরা চরম দুর্ভোগে পড়েন। দরিদ্র মানুষ, দিনমজুররা দিনে কোনো কাজ খুঁজে পায় না।
এমনকি গৃহপালিত পশু, পাখি ও জন্তুদেরও অনেক কষ্ট দেওয়া হয়। কেউ কেউ এমন একটি দিন খুব উপভোগ করে। তারা দিনটিতে কাব্যিক অনুপ্রেরণা খুঁজে পায়। একটি বৃষ্টির দিন প্রকৃতপক্ষে বেশিরভাগ মানুষের জন্য একটি বিষণ্ণ দিন।
