A Beggar at Our Door
Completing Story Class-8: A Beggar at Our Door : Once a beggar came to our house. He wore dirty dress. He was physically weak and could not speak clearly. He was about to fall down. He told me that he did not eat for all day long and failed to manage enough food for his family. I felt pity on him.
I called my mother and told her about the beggar. She took her in our house and gave some food. The beggar became very happy and began to eat very quickly. After eating, he prayed to Allah for us. He also wished me so that I could shine in life.
Then he told us that his wife was very sick. She could not work. He had five children. They were also hungry. He requested my mother to give some food for them.
My mother gave some food for his family. She also gave some money for his wife’s treatment. He looked at us with so much gratitude. Tear rolled down his face. He said nothing and left our house. We stared at his going.

একবার এক ভিক্ষুক আমাদের বাড়িতে এলো। তিনি নোংরা পোশাক পরেছিলেন। তিনি শারীরিকভাবে দুর্বল ছিলেন এবং স্পষ্ট করে কথা বলতে পারতেন না।
সে নিচে পড়ে যাচ্ছিল। তিনি আমাকে বলেছিলেন যে তিনি সারাদিন ধরে খাননি এবং তার পরিবারের জন্য পর্যাপ্ত খাবারের ব্যবস্থা করতে ব্যর্থ হয়েছেন।
আমি তার প্রতি করুণা অনুভব করলাম। মাকে ডেকে ভিক্ষুকের কথা বললাম। সে তাকে আমাদের বাড়িতে নিয়ে গেল এবং কিছু খাবার দিল।
ভিক্ষুক খুব খুশি হয়ে খুব তাড়াতাড়ি খেতে লাগলো। খাওয়া শেষে তিনি আমাদের জন্য আল্লাহর কাছে দোয়া করলেন। আমি যাতে জীবনে উজ্জ্বল হতে পারি সেও তিনি আমাকে কামনা করেছিলেন।
তারপর তিনি আমাদের বললেন যে তার স্ত্রী খুব অসুস্থ। সে কাজ করতে পারেনি। তার পাঁচটি সন্তান ছিল। তারাও ক্ষুধার্ত ছিল। তিনি আমার মাকে অনুরোধ করলেন তাদের জন্য কিছু খাবার দিতে। আমার মা তার পরিবারের জন্য কিছু খাবার দিয়েছিলেন।
স্ত্রীর চিকিৎসার জন্য কিছু টাকাও দিয়েছেন। তিনি আমাদের দিকে অনেক কৃতজ্ঞ দৃষ্টিতে তাকালেন। তার মুখ বেয়ে অশ্রু গড়িয়ে পড়ল। সে কিছু না বলে আমাদের বাড়ি থেকে চলে গেল। আমরা তার যাওয়ার দিকে তাকিয়ে রইলাম।
