Bayazid’s Devotion to Mother
You will have heard the name of Bayazid Bostami. He loved his mother very much. His devotion to his mother is well known to all. One night Bayazid was studying while his mother was sleeping. Suddenly he heard that his mother was uttering, “Water, water”.
Bayazid went to his mother but found her sleeping. Then he went to the pitcher for water. Unfortunately, the pitcher was totally empty. It was deep dark night. But his love for mother removed all his fear. He took the pitcher and went outside to bring water.
The source of water was not near. He had to go to a spring far away from his house. After about two hours he returned home with water. He filled a glass of water and quickly went to his mother.
This time his mother was in deep sleep. He did not want to disturb his mother. He was standing beside his mother’s bed holding the glass of water. The night passed and at the time of Fazr prayer his mother woke up.
She was surprised to see Bayazid standing with a glass of water her bed. When asked, Bayazid explained the fact. Her mother prayed to Allah for Bayazid.
Almighty Allah granted her prayer. Bayazid Bostami became famous all over the world. Allah made him one of his greatest devotees.

বায়েজিদ বোস্তামীর নাম শুনে থাকবেন। তিনি তার মাকে খুব ভালোবাসতেন। মায়ের প্রতি তাঁর ভক্তি সবারই জানা। একদিন রাতে বায়েজিদ পড়াশুনা করছিলেন যখন তার মা ঘুমাচ্ছিলেন। হঠাৎ সে শুনতে পেল যে তার মা উচ্চারণ করছেন, “জল, জল”।
বায়েজিদ তার মায়ের কাছে গেলেন কিন্তু তিনি ঘুমিয়ে আছেন। তারপর পানির জন্য কলসির কাছে গেলেন। দুর্ভাগ্যবশত, কলসটি সম্পূর্ণ খালি ছিল। গভীর অন্ধকার রাত ছিল। কিন্তু মায়ের প্রতি ভালোবাসা তার সব ভয় দূর করে দিল। কলসিটা নিয়ে বাইরে পানি আনতে গেল।
পানির উৎস কাছাকাছি ছিল না। বাড়ি থেকে অনেক দূরে একটা ঝর্ণায় যেতে হয়েছে তাকে। প্রায় দুই ঘণ্টা পর পানি নিয়ে বাড়ি ফেরেন তিনি। জলের গ্লাস ভরে তাড়াতাড়ি মায়ের কাছে গেল।
এবার তার মা গভীর ঘুমে আচ্ছন্ন। সে তার মাকে বিরক্ত করতে চায়নি। সে তার মায়ের বিছানার পাশে পানির গ্লাস হাতে দাঁড়িয়ে ছিল। রাত কেটে গেল এবং ফজরের নামাযের সময় তার মা ঘুম থেকে উঠলেন।
বায়েজিদকে বিছানায় এক গ্লাস পানি নিয়ে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকতে দেখে সে অবাক হলো। জানতে চাইলে বায়েজিদ ঘটনাটি ব্যাখ্যা করেন। তার মা বায়েজিদের জন্য আল্লাহর কাছে দোয়া করলেন।
মহান আল্লাহ তার দোয়া কবুল করেছেন। বায়েজিদ বোস্তামী সারা বিশ্বে বিখ্যাত হয়েছিলেন। আল্লাহ তাকে তার শ্রেষ্ঠ ভক্তদের একজন বানিয়েছেন।
